Vehicle Speed Sensors Standard Configurations       High quality, reliable digital signal source for automotive applications. Connects to transmission speedometer cable drive output fitting. Alternatively it can be installed in-line or at the end the of speedometer cable.
      Hall-effect or reed switch technology. Heavy-duty construction stands up to rugged usage. Die cast metal case with sintered bronze bearings. Ruthenium/gold contacts are used on reed switch units.
Standard Configurations  (left to right) 7/8-18 Closed, Ford Closed, 7/8-18 Through, Ford Through. Other input fittings are availablle by special order.

    Magnetic Speed/Tachometer Sensors
       These generate a signal by sensing the proximity or transition of ferrous metal masses: gear teeth, tone wheel, reluctor, bolts or rivets; or interruptions in ferrous targets: slotted wheel.
Digital. Accurate signal from zero speed. 3-Wire installation (Power, Ground, Signal.) SPECIFICATIONS.
Analog. Sine wave output. Speed data normally read as voltage. 2-wire installation. No external power source required. SPECIFICATIONS.

Hall Effect Sensors
Hall Effect Sensors electronically switch the supplied voltage, providing is a very precise signal, accurate from zero speed. MSC makes Hall Effect VSS with 4, 8, and 16 pulses per revolution.
Reed Relay Switch 
Mechanically switches supplied voltage, activated by the transition of magnets. Specify 2 or 4 pulses per revolution.
 		Dual Output Sensors 
Designed for applications requiring two different output signals. Sensors can be mated according to need, with a Reed Relay and a Hall Effect, two Reed Relay units, or two Hall Effect units, providing any combination of available PPM signals.
